This series is entitled “Everyday Use” (named after a short story by Alice Walker) which celebrates the traditional arts of women, and in particular quilts. In rural Wisconsin I was raised surrounded by people who quilted, crocheted, and did fine woodworking, but I was not taught to think of them as artists because the art they created was not to be placed in a museum or on a wall but had an everyday use. Today I see these creators as artists. This series celebrates their art.  The series includes original watercolors and giclee prints of them.  (A giclee print is a high-end digital print. The inks are archival and the watercolor paper on which they are printed is 100% rag.)
