My visual concerns run the gamut from careful study to poetic, symbolic and sometimes political representations of nature and human nature. – Helen Klebesadel

Many of my watercolors are inspired by the magic and mystery of the landscape of Wisconsin. Raised in rural Wisconsin, I have a sense of connection to the earth and an awareness of the beauty and delicate balance, intricacy and splendor inherent in the nature that surrounds us. Artists have dealt with the human relationship to nature for centuries. In my work I point out that humans are nature and that our survival is tied to our recognition that what we do to the earth we do to ourselves.
