Green Strawberries, watercolor, 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, ©2011 Helen Klebesadel

Welcome to day six in the 33 Paintings in 33 Days Project of Alaskan artist Nikki Kinne and Wisconsin artist Helen Klebesadel.

I was on the run for day six with too many appointments and too short of time in the studio, but what fun I had with the time I did have creating this little artist trading card sized tribute to the anticipation of new fruit in my garden.

I took a page from Nikki and dug through my bin of ‘too nice to toss but not yet anything’ put-aside painting starts, and selected a light neutral background for my green strawberries.  I’m very happy with this and plan to expand on the idea with another piece of paper I found.  Watch for a larger sister piece in the future.

Rose Hips, watercolor on paper 5x7, ©2011 Nikki Kinne

Nikki spent a lot of time getting these rose hips to sing.  She especially had fun painting the negative space of the shapes of the spaces behind the rose hips with no photo to reference.  The rose hips almost become figures nestled in a sea of branches and brambles

Thank you for joining us on our shared creative adventure!

I am now making my daily works for this project available for sale online in my Meylah shop here: http://meylah.com/HelenKlebesadel  I will post them each day after they are posted in the blog.
